Along with various health benefits, Green Tea extract shows promising results for acne of adult females according to a recent study. The study observed women with moderate/sever acne who were 25-45. The women were split into two groups, 1 group taking 500mg of caffeine free Green Tea extract, and the 2nd group taking placebos. Both groups were instructed to consume 3 a day for a month.
At the end of the study, the group of women taking the Green Tea extract had not only less acne, but lowered cholesterol. It is presumed that the acne-clearing effects are caused by the anti-inflammatory properties found in the extract. Since the extract is 500mg, drinking the tea may not provide the same results. Although the extract may prove helpful to most, some people may not receive the same extent of benefits.
