Due to spending a significant portion of our lives (around one-third) sleeping, how we sleep and what we sleep on is important to our livelihoods. In other words, our sleep environment (what we sleep on) dictates the quality of our sleep.
One key factor to an overall sound sleeping environment is choosing natural bedding; i.e., bedding made of organic fibers rather than synthetic ones, which are often covered in harmful chemicals and different plastics. Other ways to improve one’s sleep environment include properly managing light and sound levels in the bedroom, such as using blackout curtains to block light using sound machines that do not increase one’s stress levels.
Finally, using a healthy and non-toxic mattress will serve as a final solution to improving upon one’s sleep health. All in all, using a combination of the above factors will create the perfectly tailored sleep environment.
